Here’s a few Valentine recipes your whole family is sure to enjoy. Older kids who are more experienced in the kitchen can do most of this on their own, but these are also fun to do alongside your younger children. Maybe you can start a new Valentine tradition. This collection comes from various friends, online and off.

Scroll down to the end of the post to shop for Valentine recipe books and fun items for your Valentine baking.

Valentine recipes for kids:

TIP: The<a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/over-200-cookie-recipes/"title="" > cookie recipe makes good <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/valentine-recipes/"title="" >Valentines Day gifts

Heart Shaped Pink Pancakes
Add a little red food coloring to your regular pancake batter and pour mixture from a squeeze bottle to make a heart or pour into a metal heart shaped cooking cutter directly on to your griddle. You can also add white <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/600-delicious-chocolate-recipes/"title="" >chocolate chips, strawberries or both to the batter. Top with whip cream for a delicious breakfast surprise. Serve with fresh strawberries and strawberry flavored milk.

Valentine Roll-Ups
flour tortillas
strawberry cream cheese
thin sliced lunch meat
finely shredded cheese
lettuce

Spread strawberry cream cheese to tortilla, add other ingredients, roll, slice and enjoy!

Heart Shaped Homemade Pizza
pizza dough
pizza or pasta sauce
mozzarella cheese
your favorite toppings

Shape your dough into a heart shape, add sauce, cheese and toppings and bake.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
2 dozen large strawberries with stems
12-oz bag of white or milk chocolate chips

In a microwave on the defrost setting or ten percent power, melt one 12-oz. bag of chocolate chips. Stir well every minute or so until completely smooth. Dip strawberries into the chocolate by holding the stems. Cover about ¾ of each berry and let excess chocolate drip off. (If you want to add miniature chocolate chips or candies as decoration, add them immediately after dipping) Place the strawberries on waxed paper in the refrigerator to allow chocolate to set. Additionally you may want to melt a contrasting color chocolate chip and drizzle diagonally onto the already made and set chocolate covered strawberries for an added touch. Refrigerate and serve the same day they are made for best results.

Be Mine Valentine Pie
1 cup Water
1 – 3 oz cherry or strawberry-flavored gelatin
2 cups vanilla <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/131-ice-cream-frozen-yogurt-sorbet-recipes/"title="" >ice cream
1 – 9″ pie shell
chocolate kisses

In a 4-cup glass measuring cup stir together the water and gelatin. Microwave, uncovered, on 100% power for about 2 minutes. Add the ice cream to the gelatin and stir until the ice cream is totally melted. Chill the mixture for about 1/2 hour, stirring a few times. Pour the chilled mixture into your pie shell. Chill about 4 hours. Arrange kisses in a heart shape on the top of the pie

Sugar Free Valentine Cherry Pie
2 deep dish pie shells
2 - 16 oz. cans tart sour cherries with juice
3 T. cornstarch
¼ c. granulated sugar replacement
¼ t. almond extract
a dash of salt
red food coloring

Drain cherries but reserve ½ cup of cherry juice. Combine reserved cherry juice, cornstarch, sugar replacement, almond extract and salt in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until slightly thickened, though the mixture will not be clear. Add a few drops of red food color, fold in cherries and allow filling to rest while preparing pie shells.

Place one shell in pie plate, securing dough to plate by pressing edge with tongs of a wet fork. Cut away excess. Cut second pie shell into 8 heart shaped designs with cookie cutter. Prick with fork. Pour cherry filling into pie shell. Arrange hearts evenly on top of cherry filling. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or till crust is browned.

Big Valentine Cookie
1 package (18 ounces) refrigerated cookie dough (any flavor) - well chilled
decorative icing, Valentine’s candies, melted chocolate

Shape an entire package of cookie dough into heart shape on greased baking sheet. Bake according to package directions, adding 3 to 4 minutes to the baking time on the package. Cool on a baking sheet for 1 minute; carefully loosen cookie with spatula. Cool on baking sheet completely. Decorate with candies, icing and melted chocolate.

Valentine Rice Crispy Pops
1/2 cups butter
red food coloring
10 cups crispy rice cereal
9 cups miniature marshmallows
popsicle sticks
<a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/fun-easy-recipes-for-kids-candy/"title="" >candy hearts with messages
12 oz bag of miniature white chocolate chips

Melt butter and marshmallows and stir until smooth adding small amounts of red food coloring until the desired shade is apparent. In a large bowl combine marshmallow mixture and rice cereal. While warm roll mixture into several balls with buttered hands, shape each into a heart shape, insert popsicle stick at bottom and press on candy hearts. Refrigerate. Optional: Dip one corner of each pop into melted white chocolate chips, place on wax paper until set. Wrap each pop in red cellophane or fold top <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/379-sandwich-ideas/"title="" >sandwich baggies and tie with a pink ribbon to hand out as treats.

Chicken Nuggets
There are some foods that are toddler magnets. Chicken nuggets is one of them. You can buy chicken nuggets frozen and then bake them or you can make your own and freeze them for future use. You can make them baked fried, according to your own tastes. Serve them with dipping sauces, fruit slices, and a vegetable for a rounded meal. These are great <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/fun-meals-for-toddlers/"title="" >meals for toddlers while you are on the go as well.

Hot Dogs or Corn Dogs
Toddlers also love hot dogs and corn dogs and they are also easy to take with you. If your child doesn’t want to eat a bun then just give them the hot dog. Put it on a stick for a fun twist. Serve with whole grain crackers, fruit cocktail, and their favorite vegetable.

Easy, Mini Pizzas
This is one of our favorite <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/fun-meals-for-toddlers/"title="" >recipes for toddlers. Use tomato sauce and cheese to turn a wide variety of things into great mini pizzas. Lightly toast wheat tortillas, corn tortillas, English muffins, or wheat bagels, then top with your tomato sauce and cheese. Chop veggies really fine and saute them for a minute or two and place them on the sauce and before the cheese. You can also top with a low fat pepperoni and other favorite pizza toppings.

Macaroni and Cheese
Another toddler magnet is macaroni and cheese. Add low fat hamburger, low fat sausage, hot dogs and or some chopped sauteed vegetables for a change.

Quesadillas
You can turn tortillas and wraps can be turned into yummy quesadillas. Place one on medium heat, top with cheese, and another tortilla or wrap and lightly toast until the cheese is melted. They are easy and make great meals for toddlers and you can add all sorts of stuff to them. Add veggies, add chopped meat of any sort, top with salsa. Have fun with it and you will come up with some great recipes for you and your family. You can also use quesadillas as a great way to use up leftovers.

TIP: When introducing a new food to your toddler, try serving it with a food that they already like.

Kids love to cook, and there are many <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com"title="" >fun easy recipes for kids that are simple and safe enough for even small children to help with or for older kids to make on their own.

One recipe that kids really enjoy to make and eat is Ants on a Log. Not only is this a very healthy treat with protein and vitamins, but there’s no cooking involved! A two year old could make Ants on a Log nearly as easily as you! All you need are the following ingredients and tools: peanut butter, clean celery ribs, raisins and a spoon. Simply scoop out a spoonful of peanut butter and smear it all along into the hollow of the celery stick. Now drop raisins on top of the celery like a trail of ants and Voila! You have Ants on a Log! Kids really get a kick out of these, and there’s absolutely no way to make them wrong.

<a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/131-ice-cream-frozen-yogurt-sorbet-recipes/"title="" >Ice Cream <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/379-sandwich-ideas/"title="" >Sandwiches are as much fun to make as they are to eat. You will need: vanilla (or your favorite flavor) ice cream, <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/600-delicious-chocolate-recipes/"title="" >chocolate chip (or any other you like)<a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/over-200-cookie-recipes/"title="" > cookies and an ice cream scoop. Now take two<a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/over-200-cookie-recipes/"title="" > cookies and lay them flat. Place a scoop of ice cream on one cookie. Then put the other cookie on top of it. These Ice Cream <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/379-sandwich-ideas/"title="" >Sandwiches can be enjoyed right away. To save some for later, wrap the individual sandwiches in plastic wrap. You can put these in a plastic container or freezer bag and keep them in the freezer, but I guarantee they won’t be there for long!

Cooking with kids is fun for them as well as for us. There’s nothing quite like the look on a child’s face when they’ve accomplished something they can be proud of. With the above recipes, no matter how much of it ends up on them- the results will be delicious!

Kids love to create things, so it’s no wonder they love to cook. If your children, or grandchildren, show an interest in helping you cook, these easy <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/fun-easy-recipes-for-kids-breakfast/"title="" >kids breakfast ideas may be a good place for them to start.

Don’t forget to make it fun, for them and for you! Try renaming your food with a funny and silly name! Or try renaming the food using your child’s name. For example, rename the cheddar eggs, Billy’s Famous Eggs. Your children will really get a kick out of that.

Also, remember to add extra time in the kitchen so you aren’t rushing around. That won’t be fun for anybody.

1: Cheddar Eggs
(My kids really love this one!)

Spray a small microwavable cup or bowl with cooking spray.
Add one egg and 1 TBS water.
Beat lightly with a fork.
Stir in 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
(you can also use whatever cheese you have on hand)
Microwave on high for 1 minute.
Remove and break up the egg.
Return to microwave for an additional 30 seconds.
Spoon it onto a roll, toast or wrap it in a taco.
(Makes one serving)

2: Banana And Friends
(They like to make this when they have friends sleep over)

Peel and slice one banana.
Place in the bottom of a bowl.
Top it with any flavor yogurt.
Add any kind of cut up fruit on top of the yogurt.
Sprinkle any kids of cereal on top of the fruit
(Makes one serving)

3: Peanut Butter and Jelly Waffle <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/379-sandwich-ideas/"title="" >Sandwich
(My husband likes this one!)

Toast two waffles as directed.
Spread one waffle with peanut butter.
Add a few banana slices onto the waffle that has the peanut butter.
Spread jelly onto the other waffle.
Close to make a sandwich

I’ve had this saved on my computer for a while. I’m not sure where I found it, but I wish I had a picture to go with it. If any of you make this, please send in a picture. Thanks!

The table:

The table is made of a regular double cake. Place icing in between the layers to keep them in place and a light coat over the top and sides. Purchase Marzipan (almond paste) or use the attached recipe and add the food coloring of your
choice, saving a small bit aside for making the cake on the table. Roll out in a 10 inch circle and trim using either a bowel or pie pan. Loosely lay over the top of the cake to resemble a table cloth. Using a small line icing tip,
scribble a pattern to resemble the lace on the tablecloth. You should use the small line tip around the table cloth as well in a bead manner. Take a <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/379-sandwich-ideas/"title="" >sandwich<a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/over-200-cookie-recipes/"title="" > cookie and wrap the uncolored Mazipan around it. Using a small shell tip,
decorate the cookie to resemble a cake. The candles are made by taking bits of spaghetti noodle (uncooked) and wrap around with the colored Mazipan.

The chairs:

Make several cupcakes without the paper wrapping. Roll out the remainder of the colored Mazipan and cut 6 inch circles to place over the each cupcake in a flowing fashion. The backs of the chairs are made using Dixie cups. Cut the bottom off and down one side and cut out a pattern you prefer the tops of your chairs to be. Lay each top on the rolled out colored Mazipan and trim around making 2 pieces. Wrap around the front and back of the chair leaving about 1/4 inch of the bottom free. Stick the top of the chair down into each cupcake. Using the small line tip, decorate the chair to resemble a bead pattern. You should do the top of the chair and around the skirt.

The dolls and teddy bears:

Using the a large line tip, squeeze icing the color of your choice into a ball shape. Continue with a second over the first. Using a medium line tip, use flesh colored icing to make the legs and arms. For the head, purchase the icing
faces sold in most stores that sale cake decorating items. Use the same method for the teddy bears as for the dolls only use the medium line tip to make the 3rd ball over the first 2. Use the small line tip to make the ears in the same fashion.

The cups and saucers:

The tea cups and saucers are made from the uncolored Mazipan that is rolled out and then shaped to resemble their counterparts. The handle and trim is made using the small line tip.

Marzipan:
3 cups whole almonds, blanched and ground
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
2 egg whites, lightly beaten
3-4 Tbsp. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

In a saucepan, heat water and sugar until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil. Let it boil steadily without stirring the temperature reaches 230-234 degrees F on a <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/fun-easy-recipes-for-kids-candy/"title="" >candy thermometer. Remove from heat and beat until mixture turns slightly cloudy. Stir in ground almonds, egg whites, and vanilla. Cook over gentle heat for 2-3 minutes or until mixture pulls away from sides of pan. Turn mixture onto a surface that has been sprinkled with some of the powdered sugar. Knead the mixture until smooth, working in the rest of the powdered sugar. Pull off pieces and roll into balls or olive-shaped pieces. Wrap in foil or wax paper and store in airtight container.

What you need:
4 heads fresh <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/quick-dinner-broccoli-casserole/"title="" >broccoli, chopped
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons butter
2 cups crushed, seasoned croutons

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook broccoli in the boiling water for 1 minute. Drain, and set aside.

In a saucepan over medium heat, mix the cheese, cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese is melted. Add the broccoli, stirring to coat. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Mix in the croutons, and sprinkle over the broccoli mixture.

Bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the topping is browned and broccoli is tender.

What you need:

(10 ounce) package frozen chopped <a href="http://funeasyrecipesforkids.com/spinach-casserole/"title="" >spinach (or substitute any other vegetable)
8 ounces crumbled feta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup cubed processed cheese food
1 cup melted butter, divided in half
2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
1 (16 ounce) package phyllo dough

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

In a large bowl, combine the spinach, feta cheese, mozzarella cheese, processed cheese food, 1/2 the butter, vinegar, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Place a layer of phyllo dough into the bottom of a lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish. Spread the spinach and cheese mixture into the dish and top with 4 layers of phyllo dough, spraying each layer with butter-flavored cooking spray. Drizzle the remaining butter over the top.

Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 20 minutes

I originally got this spinach casserole recipe from someone at Frugal Village a few years back. It’s been one that my family has enjoyed.
