Fun Easy Recipes For Kids was recently given the chance to sample, review and organize a giveaway for Little Duck Organics, an organic children’s snack company, based in Brooklyn (shout out to my home town!).
Before I tell you about this little tasty snack, let me give you some insight into the company itself. Founder Zak Normandin created Little Duck Organics in 2009 after wanting to find an organic, no-sugar added snack for his three young children. LDO works directly with the farmers who grow the fruit, which not only benefits the farmer, who gets a fair price, but LDO as well. In any business, working closely with your suppliers promotes trust and open communication for everyone involved.
One of the things that impressed me right away was their involvement in 1% For Humanity – a growing movement of businesses who gives 1% of their annual revenues to humanitarian nonprofit organizations. It’s commendable when a company, especially a fairly new one, commits to giving back and I thought it was something worth mentioning.
LDO also organized Brooklyn Batched, a networking event for local food and drink start-ups and small businesses. Connecting with other local companies is a great way to get involved in your local community and keep your finger on emerging trends.
Now onto the snacks!!
Tiny Fruits, dried fruit snacks for kids are:
They come in four flavors, strawberry & mango, apple & banana, blueberry & apple and the one that was sent to us, pineapple & mango.
I shared the bag of Pineapple & Mango Tiny Fruits with a couple of family members (teens & adults) and two of my friend’s children, ages 2 and 7. They all loved it and we all agreed it had a very tropical taste. It has a great flavor and the pineapple taste is front and center. We all gave it two thumbs up! Check their website (linked at the top) for places to purchase Tiny Fruits online and offline.
This is a snack you can feel good about giving to your kids…..and Little Duck Organics wants to give you the chance to do that free!
Three winners will receive a bag of Tiny Fruits, in their choice of flavor.
